Changes in ASN Curriculum

If you did not enroll in Excelsior College®* by September 30, 2007, please read the following information.

Effective October 1, 2007, Excelsior College* implemented curriculum changes for the Associate of Science in Nursing program. According to the information posted on Excelsior College's* web site at www.excelsior.edu, the Nursing Concepts theory examinations have changed, including the number of examinations required for program completion. In addition, a new three-part clinical competency assessment, Focused Clinical Competencies Assessment (FCCA), has been introduced. All students will still be required to complete the Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination (CPNE®).

Program Progression

If you did not make the September 30 application deadline, we encourage you to complete your general education courses (if applicable) prior to starting the nursing courses

If you only have the Nursing Concepts modules, you will NOT be able to take the corresponding examination until you receive the new nursing theory modules because there is additional material that is not in the current module. The Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Safety replaced the Nursing Concepts 1 module and is currently available for shipping. However, if you plan on studying any other Nursing Concepts modules, please contact The College Network's Academic Support Department before starting.

If you have any other questions, please click on the chat link on the left-hand side of this page to chat live with an Academic Advisor.

2) You can apply the cost of your Nursing Concepts 2 comprehensive learning module towards the purchase of the Rx for NCLEX ® Success materials (if not previously purchased).

3) You can apply the cost of your Nursing Concepts 2 comprehensive learning module to another comprehensive learning module needed for your ASN program, per your course analysis.
