 | Set Up a Study Plan |
The College Network's learning module program is designed to prepare you for CLEP®, DSST®, and Excelsior College® Examinations in the most efficient ways possible. The modules contain concise information in a format that will enhance your critical-thinking skills. Remember-the module content is condensed from many textbooks and from the actual lecture notes of our authors. Do not skip any parts! The following suggestions should be helpful as you formulate a study plan to prepare for your equivalency examinations.
If you've always been an organized person - one who likes timelines and checklists - setting up a study plan shouldn't be too hard for you. But if you're the type who's always shied away from structure, it may pose more of a challenge - but by no means an impossible one!
Let us help you develop a study plan that really works. Just follow the steps below. You'll see how simple it is - and how much easier it makes progressing through your degree program!
Step 1:
You should plan to spend at least five to eight hours a week studying for each module. Realize that distractions and busy work schedules will limit your time for effective study.
Step 2:
Build a weekly schedule for yourself. Think of what you can accomplish in a half hour, forty minutes, and an hour, and have tasks related to that work that can be done in those amounts of time. Depending on the subject and your individual learning style, you may require more or less hours each week for study.
Step 3:
Create weekly and monthly checklists of your goals for accomplishing modules and taking examinations. It's important that you stick to your goals and schedules, unless there are extreme circumstances.
Measure your level of achievement one module at a time.
Don't let the number of learning modules overwhelm you.
Stick to your routine, but remain flexible enough to make revisions to your plan if you fall behind.
Don't make excuses to get out of your studying.
