HR: Foundations of Employee Relations
6 Two-week Courses — 36 Hours of Learning — 3.6 CEUs

Learn how to develop strategies for helping your organization comply proactively with EEO, AA, Diversity laws, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, NLRA and state and local laws and policies; help identify and implement effective employee relations strategies and practices; discuss the advantages and disadvantages of merit and variable pay plans; utilize effective communication strategies, coaching and counseling techniques, and discipline strategies for improved performance; identify strategies for using communication to solve workplace conflict.

Certificate Information

The certificate series consists of 6 courses, offered in pairs. You may choose to take all six courses in any sequence. The certificate comprises the following courses:

Accreditation
Participants who successfully complete all 6 courses in this certificate series will receive a Human Resources: Employee Relations Certificate from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

Each two-course program in this certificate series has been approved for 12 recertification credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resources Certification Instititute (HRCI). Please contact the Human Resources Certificate Institute (HRCI) for further information about certification or recertification. In addition, Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) will give 1.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to each student who has successfully completed any of the two-course HR programs in the Human Resources Studies Certificate series (this translates to 0.6 CEUs per course). Students can apply to the ILR school for the CEU units after they have completed both courses in a program.
