The College Network, Inc. Introduces Enhanced Academic Support

Newly Launched Guidance Initiative Provides Adult Learners with Personalized Touch

Indianapolis, IN. - Working adults who pursue a degree using The College Network's comprehensive learning modules and the online associate's, bachelor's, and master's programs available through its partner universities now receive an even greater level of personal attention to support and encourage them on their path to higher education.

Every new customer of The College Network now receives an in-depth Guidance Consultation from an Academic Advisor. The Guidance Consultation experience is tailored to each customer's needs and is in essence an "Information Road Map" to successful completion of a degree program.

The Guidance Initiative provides more personalized service, allowing Academic Advisors to assist customers in setting up a study plan that suits their unique learning style, life circumstances, and degree completion goals.

"With this Guidance Initiative, we are taking our academic support to new levels. Our customers begin their learning experience very positively and with the sense that, although they may be distance education learners, they are definitely not alone. We get to know our customers so that we can tailor a support program just for them," said Gary Eyler, CEO of The College Network.

A customer's relationship with The College Network begins when he or she meets with a Program Advisor and chooses from among many degree and certificate programs. In the case of a degree program, the Program Advisor provides an initial evaluation of a customer's previously earned college credit to determine the number of credit hours that may transfer into the customer's chosen degree program.

Next, the customer is assigned to a team of Guidance Advisors so that the customer is always able to speak with someone on their "team" who will work with them until they complete the TCN portion of the degree program. The Guidance Advisors work with each customer to help them design the right study plan that fits their unique requirements and educational goals.

"It is our expectation and hope that customers will feel as if they have their own personal study group, because they always have an Advisor available to talk to about any aspect of their degree program. This serves to further fulfill TCN's promise of continuous support to our customers," Eyler said.

The new Guidance Initiative is just one aspect of the total learning solution offered to customers through The College Network. Other benefits include:

  • Comprehensive Learning Module programs.
  • Continuously updated materials provided at no extra charge
  • Academic Support (M-Th 8 am-11 pm EST, Fr 8 am-9 pm EST)
  • Discussion boards
  • Quarterly support e-mails
  • Live chat with Academic Support (M-Fr 8 am-8 pm EST)
