Associate of Arts in General Studies Degree Bachelor of General Studies Degree The College Network provides services to help learners successfully complete equivalency exams that are considered for credit as part of the overall program in general studies at Indiana University.
The Indiana University School of Continuing Studies awards credit toward an Associate of Arts in General Studies degree or a Bachelor of General Studies degree for Advanced Placement Examinations, College-Level Examination Programs (CLEP), Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES) examinations, and ACT-PEP Regents (Excelsior) College examinations. Policies are established by faculty on the eight individual IU campuses. More can be learned about these examination options by talking to a local general studies advisor. Students do not receive credit by taking DANTES, CLEP, or ACT-PEP Regents (Excelsior) College examinations for courses for which they have already received credit. In addition, credits awarded on the basis of CLEP and DANTES scores will not be considered as after-admission or Indiana University credit hours. Learn more about the general studies degrees.
